Demonstrates basic data interaction: putting two computers into communication with each other. Highlights computer components, illustrating how computers produce signals and how the telephone is used through a modem as a transmission medium. Hardware and software applications are reviewed, explaining simply how commands with software tell a modem to send a message from the "calling" personal computer to the "answering" one. In addition, the program describes computer connectors, pins, ports, cables, and the seven signals carried between terminals.
